Jhula Devi Temple

One of the main attractions of Ranikhet, Jhula Devi temple is an 8th-century temple. The presiding deity of the temple, Lord Durga, sits on a wooden swing (Jhula), thus, it was called as ‘Jhula Devi Temple’. According to the locals, the main deity of the temple, Goddess Durga, protects them from the wild animals.
People even say that after many years of its formation, the goddess continues to shower its blessings. Despite being a forest area filled with wild animals, the area remains easily accessible for the locals.
The present temple complex, built in 1935, covers a vast territory and is known in the country for the countless number of the bells, which are the testimony to the divine and the healing powers of Maa Jhula Devi.

The best time to visit the Katarmal Sun Temple is during the months of October to March when the weather is pleasant and the surrounding landscape is at its picturesque best.

Kasar Devi is a village near Almora, Uttarakhand. It is known for the Kasar Devi temple, a Devi temple, dedicated to Kasar Devi, after whom the place is also named.
The temple structure dates to the 2nd century CE. Swami Vivekananda visited Kasar Devi in 1890s, and numerous western seeker, Sunyata Baba Alfred Sorensen and Lama Anagarika Govinda. Perched just 8 kms from Almora, Kasar Devi is a hushed hamlet situated in the silence of verdant Kumaon hills.
One of the many hidden jewels in Uttarakhand, Kasar Devi village derives its name from the namesake local deity, Kasar Devi.
